After years of planning, this kitchen was redesigned to be brighter, more functional, and better connected to the living space. The new layout maximizes storage and creates a welcoming place to cook and entertain.
This hardworking customer had been saving for years for an updated kitchen. The original kitchen was dark and the island configuration gave her little entertaining space into the greatroom and some very unusable under counter storage. The kitchen also had only 1 drawer. The thoughtful redesign involved an island reconfiguration, adding more drawers and useable under counter storage space.
The light colour scheme made the room feel much bigger. A nice detail on the island is the overhang at the end of the island that creates very comfortable sitting space where the chairs can be placed on either side of or at the end of the island. The new island configuration also made the trip from the kitchen to the bbq less of an obstacle course – when your hands are full.
