A warm, modern hillside home where wood, stone, and layered outdoor terraces come together to maximize ocean views and embody effortless West Coast indoor-outdoor living.
These clients valued craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and long-term performance. Built on a steep lot, the project required a technically demanding excavation with shotcrete and underpinning to stabilize the slope and support the new structure.
Sarah-Gallop Design integrated warm wood details, stone accents, and modern materials inside and out, resulting in a truly custom home. Each terrace features its own outdoor living area, supporting the West Coast approach to seamless indoor–outdoor living.
The original house was carefully deconstructed, allowing materials to be reused on future projects. The new home is anchored by a two-storey ICF foundation, wrapped in 3″ of continuous exterior insulation, and fitted with European windows to deliver exceptional comfort and energy efficiency.
